Over the last 30 years, most investments in so-called “environmental” initiatives could largely be justified as passion projects for those who could afford to lose money in order to achieve the “social benefit” they were seeking. Rarely have there been opportunities to invest in “green initiatives” without substantially increasing risk or expenses, often forgoing meaningful and appropriate financial returns. “Green Investing” has historically been an idealistic thought, proven to be economically impractical.
We no longer have to choose between making money and making sense.
